1. Installing the Plugin

To install the plugin, unzip the files into the Morrowind/Data Files directory.

*****************************************************************

2. Playing the Plugin

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the BE_Ghetto_BE.esp file. If you do not have Balmora Expansion installed, check the box next to the BE_Ghetto_No_BE.esp file. Do not run them both together, or there will be clipping issues.

3. Save Games

This plugin will not invalidate your old saved games. If you save your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages when you reload the saved game without the plugin. But you will be able to continue on with the original game.

4. What It Does

Adds litter and fungus to the east side of Balmora for that “ghetto” effect, as described by the NPCs in the game. Buildings now have ivy and bungler’s bane growing up the outside of them, to reflect their grotty, damp locations. Scraps of paper rot in the streets and old statues decay because of the flora sprouting up through the ancient stone. The wealthier commercial district enjoys the addition of a new statue and a waterfall. Just outside the city gates, near the siltstrider, are a number of empty shacks. Three are locked, but have
the “soft” furnishings such as plates and cups. The fourth, called simply “abandoned shack”, is unlocked and lacks soft furnishings. The shacks represent the sort of shanty dwellings that spring up outside any residential area and would suit any low-level character.

5. Credits

I made this in response to Qarl’s Balmora retextured. I loved his ideas but I didn’t want to use those particular textures in the game. I designed these .esp files purely for my own use, but during playtesting I realised that my .esp files didn’t seem to conflict with Qarl’s files, so I figured they might complement each other.

Credits to everyone on TES Forums, Gamer’s Roam, and all the usual suspects. Credits, obviously, to Bethesda Softworks.
