1. Installing the Plugin

To install the plugin, unzip the .esp file into the Fallout 3/Data directory

2. Playing the Plugin

From the Fallout 3 Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the Princess Megaton Home Extension.esp file.

3. Save Games

This plugin will not invalidate your old saved games. If you save your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages when you reload the saved game without the plugin. But you will be able to continue on with the original game.

4. What It Does

Adds a basement area to the Megaton player home, featuring a kitchen-dining area, double bedroom, and en-suite bathroom. There are no special interactive features such as those present in other Megaton player home additions, but aside from those that occupy the same cell space, it should not conflict with other Megaton home additions.

Entry is by way of a hatch next to the front door. There is a ladder-door back up, but no corresponding ‘up’ hatch because of the uneven shape of the ceiling.

The new bedroom features lockers filled with empty boxes to fulfil the storage requirements of even the most enthusiastic pack rat. The bed uses the player-bed script so that you will be Well Rested if you sleep in it.

The bathroom area is the Tenpenny-style ‘clean’ version because the ‘normal’ bathroom is just too disgusting to contemplate living with. There is still light staining to the bath, toilet and basin.

I have created a new Encounter Zone flagged ‘Never Resets’ and owned by the player, so it should be literally impossible for items to go missing unless they are taken by your companions (in which case it should be easy to retrieve them). Navmeshes have been applied to the new area.

Subject to the terms of Bethesda’s EULA. There is no restriction on the distribution of my mods so long as they are kept intact with all their files and the readme. 7. Bug Reporting/Known Issues

The entry hatch is in a space hitherto occupied by the ‘Wadsworth Mat’ reference. This did not seem to be a scripted or flagged item, so I moved the mat down a couple of units on the z axis to accommodate. If this presents any problems, please delete ‘Wadsworth Mat’ in the Details tab to restore its position and let me know and I’ll upload a new version of this file. I just moved it because it was untidy.
