Calvus and Rerlas

Adds modern ‘companion’ functions based on Grumpy et al’s scripts to Calvus Horatius (the companion in Tribunal), plus warping to the pets sold by Rerlas in the Great Bazaar in Mournhold. Calvus has more functions, more features and more personality.  The pets can be retrieved if lost and resurrected if killed.

4. What It Does

Adds grumpy’s companion script to Calvus and extra functionality to Rerlas’s pets.

– adds basic warping to Rerlas’ pets, follow/stay commands for scribs and a choice of three wolves for the player to purchase. The wolves are unique and irreplaceable, therefore a signet ring is offered with each to resurrect the animal if it dies. This is a simple script attached to the ring i.e. wolf->resurrect. I’m not sure how reliable it would be with continuous use, but I’ve tested it a few times and it works.

– adds a topic to Rerlas called ‘-where’s my pet?’ – if you do not have Calvus with you, you may need to use the console to add the topic (use the ` key to open the console window and type the following exactly as written: addtopic “-where’s my pet?”
press enter and type ` to close the window and resume playing)

NOTE: if you buy multiple pets from Rerlas, only the most expensive will be warped to him if you lose it – so if you buy a scrib and a wolf and lose both, the ‘where’s my pet’ topic will only bring the wolf back.

– The mercenary Calvus in the courtyard now has Grumpy’s companion functions – auto-move to prevent path-blocking, warping, and will levitate, sneak, chameleon, water-walk and water-breathe when the player does. Dinkum-Thinkum’s potion-saver function is included. The companion will level up with the player and a new topic – ‘-where is Calvus?’ – will reset him to his original co-ordinates if you lose him, if you ask anyone in Mournhold’s Royal Palace Courtyard

– Calvus’s face has been swapped for one that appears more attractive in my game (how it looks in yours depends on what headpacks you’re using)

– Talking to him about his “Background” triggers a new topic that will kick in every 2 days to expand his backstory. Depending on the player’s choice, the new conversations will result in a “passionate night together” and Calvus working for free after that. (He doesn’t feel comfortable about taking money from his lover!). Or you can just continue to use him as a slightly more interesting meat shield – you decide which way you want to take the friendship

It’s only a small mod, nothing major.
